I’m having such a fun time with Gabriella. My wife is quick to point out that I am only home in the afternoons and on the weekends so I don’t really get the full effect of Gabriella. But even so I am so excited to see what new thing she can do or wants to do.

At the moment there isn’t anything that she doesn’t want to do. She wants to brush her teeth with my tooth brush, wear my clothes (usually on her head), use the house keys to lock and open all the doors, eat anything that Christi and I like to eat, play the piano, surf the net, and bath herself. And those are the things that she wanted to do yesterday. Who knows what she has tried today.

In the saga called “Raising Gabriella” Christi did an awesome and commendable job last night.

Now that the baby knows how to climb out of the crib we had to take it down. Christi and I took the mattress out of the crib and placed in on the carpet, to facilitate a better sleeping experience for Gabriella and a longer sleep time for her parents.

But that wasn’t enough. Someone had to sit outside of the door once the baby was put to bed and stay there until she stopped trying to get out of her room and run around the house. Since I was leading the Thursday Bible study I couldn’t do it so Christi “Volunteered”.

My brave and patient wife stayed out side of the baby’s room for over an hour until Gabriella finally surrendered to sleep. I would like to offer kudos to my wife.

I love you Christi.
